The Hub of Congresses and Conventions of the Americas: Panama Leads the Way
As part of the national strategy led by the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, Panama reaffirms its commitment to becoming the premier destination for congresses and conventions in the Americas. This vision, championed by PROMTUR Panamá and supported by a strong public-private partnership, underscores the strategic importance of the meetings and events industry as a key driver of economic growth and global visibility. Salomón Shamah, General Director of PROMTUR Panamá, highlighted that Panama’s convention centers should not be viewed as standalone businesses but as powerful catalysts for economic impact. A prime example is the Panama Convention Center—a $210 million investment with an annual operating cost exceeding $5 million. This venue has the potential to transform every dollar invested into millions of dollars in national revenue, akin to success stories like CORFERIAS in Bogotá, which contributes 4.7% of that city’s GDP. Panama’s Strategic Advantages Panama stands out as an ideal destination for the meetings and events industry due to: Strategic Location: Its geographic position, at the crossroads of the Americas, allows for quick and direct connections to North and South America, Europe, and Asia through Tocumen International Airport. Modern Infrastructure: State-of-the-art venues like ATLAPA and the Panama Convention Center […]

UFI Unveils New Brand Identity and Logo to Mark Centennial Milestone
UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, today introduces a fresh logo and revamped brand identity, marking the association’s journey into its second century. Founded in 1925, UFI went many years without a formal logo, eventually adopting its first in 1947: the head of Hermes, Greek god of trade, symbolizing swift communication and commerce. This was followed by a new look in 2003, reflecting UFI’s transition to a global organization with locations in Paris and Hong Kong, featuring an abstract Hermes head. Now, UFI’s new logo distills Hermes’ wing into four distinct feathers, representing the four pillars central to UFI’s mission: Events, Research, Education, and Advocacy. The logo’s green hue symbolizes UFI’s commitment to sustainability and the positive, enduring impact of exhibitions worldwide. Designed with a clean, modern font, the logo is optimized for both digital and physical platforms. UFI President Geoff Dickinson explains, “UFI’s new identity mirrors the growing role and responsibility we hold in today’s industry.
