World Exhibitions Day to be hosted in Panama for the first time this year

Created five years ago by the Global Associations of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), World Exhibitions Day (GED) is an annual series of activities designed to promote the visibility of this major pillar of the MICE industry, and the year 2020 will certainly not be an exception.

On Wednesday, June 3, the Republic of Panama will join GED for the first time ever with a special virtual event coordinated by Meetings ®Panama in association with PROMTOUR (Panama’s DMO), and the Panama Convention Center, with the support of Asociación Panameña de Profesionales en Congresos, Exposiciones y Afines – APPCE and Meetings Panama strategic partners.

Following GED 2020’s main theme (“Exhibitions are Key to Rebuilding Economies”), the virtual event will consist of a panel featuring major sector figures from Panama and LatAm.

Three prominent, MICE-industry representatives have been chosen to address the tremendous potential offered by the sector (which generates 116 million euros in revenue per annum) in the post-Covid-19 scenario. Their names are: David Dolum, chairman of the No Limit Design Global (an international exhibitions’ production firm;) Gabriel Barletta, the Exhibits & Events chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Panama, and Denis Guillén, deputy administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP).  Luis Ricardo Martínez, chairman of APPCE, and Patricia Puentes, general manager of Meetings ®Panama will serve as the panel’s moderators.

Celebrated this year in its 5th edition, GED is actively promoted by 41 partner associations, UFI, and members of said organizations from around the world. Held in Spanish (with translation services into English and Portuguese requested at the link below), the panel will be held at 10:00 EST (UTC-5).
