The whale watching season on Panama’s Pacific coast extends between the months of July and October, when our waters welcome its gigantic and long-awaited visitors: the humpback whales.

Our large cetacean visitors ply the waters of the Gulf of Chiriquí, moving along the southern coast of the province of Veraguas and the Azuero peninsula to reach the Las Perlas archipelago.

Whales visit Panama from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres in order to reproduce and give birth to their calves, extending their stay through part of the nursing period up to two months after birth.

A number of tours are organized in Panama to watch these spectacular creatures as they visit our warm waters.
