Panama presents its very best to the worl
With merely ten days before the opening of Expo Turismo Internacional, Panama’s No. 1 exhibit for tourism-industry wholesalers, 200 companies have already registered for the event, which will take place May 24-25 at Panama City’s Atlapa Convention Center.
The aforementioned companies, which constitute the bulk of the fair’s clients, encompass a good number of MICE-related firms as well as businesses specialized in adventure tourism. Said firms hail from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, China, Ecuador, Spain, USA, France, Mexico, United Kingdom, and Russia, among others.
José Rodolfo de la Guardia, chairman of the fair’s organizing committee, defines Expo Turismo as a large annual meeting point where the diversity of Panama’s tourist attributes is displayed for representatives of the world’s trendiest markets. He stated, “This year, we will place particular emphasis on attracting buyers from the United States, Europe, and China.”
On his part, Gabriel Barletta, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama, describes the trade fair as “…the opportunity to establish business contacts between wholesalers and tour operators interested in Latin America and meeting planners and adventure tourism specialists, all under a single roof.”
Expo Turismo Internacional, which holds its 10th version this year, is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), the National Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR), and the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), with the support of the Panamanian Hotel Association (APATEL) and Copa Airlines. In addition, the event is sponsored by Albrook Mall and Westland Mall.
Over 100 local exhibitors will take part in the event, whose stands and modules will cover a total of 4,800 square meters at Atlapa Convention Center.
Opening from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the fair will be exclusively devoted to business activities for exhibitors and wholesalers on Friday, May 24. On Saturday, May 25, the event will be open to the general public, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
