Panama will host the XVII Central American Small Hotel Forum –a byproduct of the country’s designation as FECAPH’s temporary presidency.
In May, two months prior to the aforementioned forum, our country will also host the association’s annual assembly, which will take place alongside the EXPOTURISMO trade fair, an activity jointly organized by the Chamber of Tourism of Panama and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Panama.
Established in 2002 as a MSMEs tourism project of the Organization of American States (OAS), FECAPH seeks to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the region’s small hotels, a category that encompasses lodging facilities ranging between 6-50 guestrooms. The organization currently comprises 1,500 members and is backed by the governmental tourism ministries/institutes of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Panama.
This year, the members of FECAPH’s Board of Directors are: Héctor Gólcher (President – Panamá); Leonor de Castellanos (Vice president – El Salvador); Luis Ruiz Jr., (Secretary – Guatemala); Donaldo Suazo (Treasurer – Honduras); Héctor Jiménez (Member -Nicaragua), y Jane Lemarie Caicedo (Spokesperson – Costa Rica).
